Start your aerospace career before you graduate
The Semper Foundation provides students with hands-on aviation experience, mentorship, and career exposure through real internship opportunities with aviation professionals.
Aviation Contributions to Emergency Operations
The aviation industry is growing fast, and the next generation is needed.

90%
DISASTER RESPONSE & RESCUE
Over 90% of aerial wildfire suppression in the U.S. relies on aircraft. During hurricanes and floods, helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft perform search-and-rescue, deliver food and medical supplies, evacuate patients, and transport emergency personnel to areas unreachable by road.
80,000+
POWER GRID & UTILITY SUPPORT
After major storms, aircraft inspect thousands of miles of transmission lines and pipelines. Following large-scale outages, utility companies deploy helicopters and drones to rapidly locate damage and guide restoration crews — helping restore electricity to tens of thousands of customers faster than ground inspection alone.
MILLIONS
MEDICAL TRANSPORT & PUBLIC HEALTH
During COVID-19, aviation transported millions of vaccine doses, ventilators, PPE, and critical medical supplies. Air ambulances and medical helicopters transferred ICU patients between hospitals and rural communities when ground transport was too slow or unavailable.
24/7
COMMUNICATIONS & CYBER SECURITY
When cyber attacks or system failures disrupt communication networks, aircraft serve as airborne communication platforms, surveillance systems, and command centers. Aviation supports emergency coordination, disaster mapping, and damage assessment when ground systems are compromised.
Get Involved
The Semper Foundation welcomes individuals, families, educators, and community partners who want to help expand access to aviation opportunities for students. Whether you volunteer your time, mentor a student, partner with our programs, or support through donations, your involvement helps introduce young people to careers they may never have otherwise discovered. Together, we can provide hands-on learning experiences, positive role models, and real pathways into aviation and emergency operations for the next generation.
